Making an offer

Be specific and polite. Make a number offer, don't ask what their lowest is.

Scheduling a pickup

Once you've agreed on price, nail down the logistics.

Following up

If you didn't get a reply the first time.

Politely backing out

Common courtesy when you're no longer interested. Takes 5 seconds and sellers appreciate it.

The golden rule

Your first message should always do at least one of: show intent to buy, ask a specific question, or propose a time. Anything less and you're wasting everyone's time.
